MBSA, MPS help promote Plats 3.0, attract traders in digital marketing

SHAH ALAM, April 13 — The Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) organised a series of information sessions and exhibitions programmes to attract more entrepreneurs in joining the Selangor Platform (Plats) 3.0.

Its Corporate and Public Relation Department head Shahrin Ahmad said the session ran four days from March 21 until March 24 at the MBSA Auditorium Hall.

Shahrin said MBSA also collaborated with the residents’ representative council to enlighten traders on the digital revolution that is currently being implemented by the state government.

“We know it is quite difficult for the traders to come and listen to our elaboration on Plats as they are more focused on their business activities, but it is important for them to participate in such events as it would help supply them with new knowledge to expanding their businesses,” he said.

Shahrin added a total of 1,260 traders registered for Plats 1.0 and 2.0 as of December last year.

Meanwhile, Selayang Municipal Council (MPS) Corporate Department director Mohamad Zin Masoad said they will continue to help Menteri Besar Incorporated (MBI), Permodalan Negeri Selangor Berhad and Plats in promoting the platform to entrepreneurs and small traders.

He said promotional activities, usage methods and support services need to be improved so that traders will choose Plats as the main medium to run their businesses.

“The move from the Selangor government to introduce Plats is commendable as it helps to pave the way for traders to expand their businesses via digital platforms, and we have to step up Plats promotional activities and exposure to them,” he said.

Plats 3.0 was launched on April 8 in collaboration with 12 local authorities, targeting the participation of 10,000 traders and entrepreneurs.

The platform was introduced during Ramadan two years ago to complete the Selangor Digitalisation Agenda ecosystem involving entrepreneurs through a single digital platform.

On April 11 last year, Plats 2.0 was launched to aid traders in generating income full-time rather than being limited to the fasting month only.
