SHAH ALAM, May 18 — The Selangor Islamic Religious Department (Jais) has allowed the ‘akad nikah’ (marriage solemnisation) ceremonies to be held at any venue without any guest limit starting May 16.
In an infographic shared on Facebook, Jais said the approved venues include the District Religious Offices, mosques, suraus, homes and halls.
The state religious authority also stated that individuals who have not completed their Covid-19 vaccinations could attend the event but are subject to certain conditions.
The conditions include them not being tested Covid-19 positive and not under the home surveillance order.
Apart from that, non-citizens who had just arrived in Malaysia without complete vaccination are not allowed to attend the ceremonies.
