SHAH ALAM, May 11 — The Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) has begun repairing areas affected by erosion and sinking soil at the Kampung Tunku Muslim Cemetery yesterday.
Its corporate communication unit said the repair works are being carried out by adding soil to the affected areas, cleaning the construction waste as well as reinstalling damaged grave structures (kepuk)
“However, we ask the heirs and next-of-kin (of the deceased buried there) to cooperate and come to the cemetery’s site office in Petaling Jaya for the identifying process and to verify the site
“They can come to the office starting today until May 17, from 8am to 4pm,” said MBPJ in a Facebook post.
The council added that among the long-term actions which will be implemented include improving and cleaning the drainage system, building a walkway and repairing the concrete fence.
“All of the work will be done by quotation through the appointment of a contractor,” it said.
