SHAH ALAM, May 25 — The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has forecasted that a thunderstorm, heavy rain and strong winds will continue in Selangor until 4pm today.
In a warning issued at 12.55pm, the agency said that a similar weather condition is also expected to occur in Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya.
Other states that will also experience a stormy weather are Kedah (Kulim and Bandar Baharu), Perak (Kerian, Larut, Matang Dan Selama, Bagan Datuk, Hilir Perak, Batang Padang and Muallim), Pahang (Raub and Bentong), Negeri Sembilan (Jelebu, Seremban and Port Dickson, and Johor (Segamat, Kluang, Mersing, Pontian, Kulai, Kota Tinggi and Johor Bahru).
“The warning is issued when there are signs of thunderstorms with rainfall intensity exceeding 20mm/hour or expected to take place for over an hour.
“Thunderstorms warning is a short-term warning which is valid within six hours after it was issued,” said MetMalaysia on Facebook.
