SHAH ALAM, June 14 — Chickens and eggs were the most sought-after products at the Jualan Ehsan roadshow which offers fresh produce at affordable prices to consumers, that took place in Kampung Tasik Permai, Ampang on June 11.

A Selangor Agricultural Development Corporation (PKPS) spokesperson said a total of 200 chickens and 150 trays of eggs were sold during the event, which ran from 10am until 1pm.

“The responses have been overwhelming as we also managed to sell some 100 kilogrammes (kg) of fruits and 40kg of fish.

“The huge number of crowds were attributed to the council members’ efforts in publicising the event.

“The next location of the roadshow will be announced from time to time on PKPS’s Facebook,” said the spokesperson.

On May 27, state executive councillor for agriculture and agro-industry Izham Hashim said the number of chickens which will be sold in affordable sales this month have been increased from 10,000 to 20,000 chickens a day.

He said the additional 10,000 chickens is due to high demand in Selangor.
