SHAH ALAM, June 18 — Selangor Agricultural Development Corporation (PKPS) will be selling 2,000 chickens during the Iltizam Selangor Penyayang (ISP) carnival roadshow, at Padang Taman Kosas, Ampang, tomorrow.

Its senior marketing manager Mohd Fazir Abd Latif said the affordable sale initiative allowed people to buy a whole chicken at RM15 which is cheaper than the market price.

“The chickens sold weigh between 1.8 to two kilogrammes (kg) and the price is still cheaper compared to the market which currently can reach more than RM20.

“Apart from chicken, we also bring other basic necessities such as 1,000 trays of chicken eggs, fresh meat (1,000kg), rice, cooking oil, vegetables and fruits,” he said during the Jualan Ehsan roadshow at the parking lot of Masjid Al-Bakri in Kampung Bukit Naga, here today.

The roadshow that kickstarts in the Hulu Langat district aims to promote the state government’s welfare initiatives and will be joined by 23 other state subsidiaries.

Apart from the main events, the carnival will include a variety of activities such as aerobics, food competitions, flower arrangements, community sports, skateboarding, and e-sports.

The ISP initiative’s RM350 million allocation is aimed at replacing the Inisiatif Peduli Rakyat programme, as it will benefit a greater number of individuals.

This includes Bantuan Kehidupan Sejahtera Selangor (Bingkas) which replaces Kasih Ibu Smart Selangor (Kiss), which is expected to help 30,000 households from the initial allocation of 25,000 families.

Also included in the event is the Selangor Saring free health screening programme, with a total allocation of RM1.5 million and is expected to benefit 5,000 people especially those in risky groups.

The roadshow will be continued in Dataran Pantai Morib in Kuala Langat on June 25 before heading on to other districts.
