KUALA LUMPUR, June 4 — Selangor Malay Customs and Heritage Corporation (Padat) has started promoting its services and latest collection of books on the state’s heritage at the Selangor Pavilion during the Kuala Lumpur International Book Fair (KLIBF) 2022.

Its information officer Farhani Shamsudin said among the books are on Acheh heritage in Selangor, wau kapal, kebaya and tarian piring.

“We are taking advantage of this event to promote Selangor’s heritage and showcase the latest books which are expected to be launched in August.

“Not only that, but we also introduced the Padat Integrated Inventory System (PIIS) application which is a heritage collection catalogue. Its use can help speed up the search process and viewing of artefacts,” she said.

Apart from that, the Selangor Technical Skills Development Centre (STDC) is also taking part in the event held at the Kuala Lumpur World Trade Centre by promoting courses offered by the educational institution.

Its Marketing Unit head Mohd Zuzaily Zulkufele said STDC offers 10 technical and vocational education and training (TVET) courses as well as part-time drone studies for companies.

“Many people do not know that there are educational institutions offering TVET studies under the state government including the new ones in Section 7 (Shah Alam) that offer professional courses.

“In fact, we brought along drones that are used in the agriculture sector for visitors at the book fair to see for themselves,” he said.

The Selangor Pavilion at PBAKL 2022 which served as a platform for the state to provide various information to the public on its incentives is open from 10am to 10pm.
