SHAH ALAM, June 27 — The Selangor Mega Job Carnival 2022 will be held again from August to September, following rousing public reception, said state executive councillor for young generation development Mohd Khairuddin Othman.

He said the authorities are identifying suitable locations so that more employers and participants can join the programme.

“The programme at the Majlis Bandaraya Shah Alam (MBSA) Convention Centre earlier this month was met with stimulating response, hence the planning for a future carnival.

“This time around we plan to involve more employers from various sectors. So participants have many choices,” Mohd Khairuddin told SelangorKini.

The carnival, held on June 11 and June 12 saw more than 100 companies including state government bodies and agencies participate, offering over 20,000 employment opportunities.

The companies include Kumpulan Perangsang Selangor, Daikin Malaysia Sdn Bhd, DHL Express, DRB Hicom Berhad, Giant Malaysia and Malayan Banking Berhad.

Other participating organisations include Media Prima Digital, Perusahaan Otomobil Nasional Sdn Bhd (Proton), Prasarana Malaysia Berhad, Shopee Malaysia, Sport Direct MST Sdn Bhd and Toyota Auto Body Malaysia Sdn Bhd.

On May 12, Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said Selangor is targeting to reduce the state employment rate to under three per cent for this year, as was accomplished in the fourth quarter of 2021.
