PETALING JAYA, July 24 — The fourth instalment of the Selangor Penyayang roadshow series held in the Petaling district today highlighted 12 state initiatives that focus on the well-being of the family and community.

Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the initiatives include Bantuan Kehidupan Sejahtera Keluarga (Bingkas), Skim Air Darul Ehsan, Jom Shopping festive vouchers, Roda Darul Ehsan, Selangor Legal Aid Fund and Skim Mesra Usia Emas (SMUE).

He added that the other initiatives are Iltizam Anak Istimewa Selangor, Iltizam Anak Selangor, Independent Living Support Centre (ILSC), exemption on assessment tax and trader’s business permit fee as well as the Smart Selangor Bus.

“We have 44 programmes with 12 of them involving the development of family and community that were planned by the state government.

“The roadshow today also showcases various products under the state government,” he said during a media press conference after launching the Selangor Penyayang roadshow in Laman MBPJ (Petaling Jaya City Council) here today.

He was happy that many people came for today’s event to get more information on the state government’s initiatives aside from joining various exciting activities.

“Before launching this event, I managed to visit several booths and noticed that some of the participants were not from Petaling Jaya but came from other areas.

“Next week, we will conclude the first phase of the Selangor Penyayang roadshow with the fifth instalment of the series in Gombak that will emphasise the educational sector. After that, we will visit another four districts to provide more information on Iltizam Selangor Penyayang (ISP)and the First Selangor Plan (RS-1),” he said.

The implementation of ISP with an allocation of RM350 million to replace the Inisiatif Peduli Rakyat (IPR) programme has allowed more people to benefit from the state government’s initiatives.

The event was previously held at Taman Kosas Ampang Jaya, Dataran Pantai Morib Kuala Langat and Stadium Utama Kuala Selangor and received encouraging responses from the public.

The roadshow will conclude at Padang Awam Batu Caves in Gombak on July 31.
