MPK to share pictures, videos of illegal garbage dumping on social media, encourages public to do the same

SHAH ALAM, July 18 — The posting pictures and videos of irresponsible individuals dumping garbage illegally in the Klang district will be implemented as both a reminder and a lesson to the public.

Sinar Harian reported Klang Municipal Council (MPK) corporate communications director Norfiza Mahfiz as saying the council will not hesitate to do so, in order to prevent people from throwing rubbish as they please.

“MPK is doing its best to raise public awareness, this time in an aggressive manner, by using social media to broadcast the behaviour of unhygienic individuals lacking civic awareness,” she said.

As such, Norfiza said the public can assist MPK by sending them videos or pictures which will be shared with the public.

“We hope for the public’s support and cooperation, to ensure that issues affecting Klang can be addressed as much as possible, especially when it comes to raising awareness about the importance of maintaining the cleanliness of the environment,” she said.
