Newly-improved Bingkas to disburse RM3,600 to its recipients annually — MB

SHAH ALAM, July 1 — The newly-improved welfare assistance Bantuan Kehidupan Sejahtera Selangor (Bingkas) will channel RM300 monthly to each of its recipients, which amounts to RM3,600 a year.

Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the programme replaces the Kasih Ibu Smart Selangor (KISS) and KISS Ibu Tunggal (KISS IT) initiatives, which provide RM200 a month.

He said the programme has also been broadened to include everyone, regardless of gender, with an expected rise of 9,000 families.

“The assistance could be used to cover household expenditures, educational costs or any other family needs.

“In addition to Bingkas, we have provided various more initiatives, which will be shared tomorrow at the Selangor Penyayang roadshow at Stadium Utama Kuala Selangor.

“Do come and visit to explore the event. Hopefully, more people would benefit from the programmes,” he said on Facebook.

The Selangor Penyayang roadshow, which continues tomorrow at in Kuala Selangor, is a platform for introducing new and improved programmes by the state government.

The programme runs from 8am to 5.30pm and is scheduled to be officiated by the Menteri Besar at 11am.

The event will feature a number of activities, such as musical performances by artists such as Wany Hasrita, aerobics, community sports competitions, e-sports, and blood donations.

There will also be distribution of aid from the Selangor Poverty Eradication Blueprint and Selangor Micro Entrepreneur Fund, and a programme by the Association of Wives and Women Members of the Malaysian Civil Service (Puspanita) Selangor as well as health forum.
