SHAH ALAM, Aug 25 — State organisation Anak Istimewa Selangor (AnIS) will collaborate with SEGi University to help persons with disabilities (OKUs) who have learning disabilities to continue their studies.

The agency said the initiative will also help the OKUs prepare for their future employment.

“Applicants must be students with special education needs (MBPK) who can manage themselves; can read, write and count. Also, their parents and guardians must be registered voters in Selangor,” said AnIS on Facebook.

Those who qualified can apply at the link provided by AnIS.

“For further information contact 03-55453170 or send a message on Anis’s Facebook or Instagram accounts,” it said.

On August 16, the Selangor government announced its intention to establish the Independent Living Support Centre (ILSC), a skills training centre for disabled children (OKU) aged 18 and above who face learning difficulties, in all state districts.

State executive councillor for women empowerment and family Dr Siti Mariah Mahmud said they are working with the Selangor Social Welfare Department (JKM) and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) to identify the locations to establish the centres.
