SHAH ALAM, Aug 27 — Inclement weather is inbound for eight Selangor districts until 1am tomorrow (August 28), said the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia).
In a statement issued at 10.30pm, the agency said the districts include Sabak Bernam, Kuala Selangor, Klang, Gombak, Petaling, Kuala Langat, Hulu Langat and Sepang.
“Other states and areas which will be affected include Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, Negeri Sembilan, Melaka, Labuan, Penang and Perlis,” it said on Facebook today.
MetMalaysia issues warnings whenever signs indicate a thunderstorm with a rain intensity exceeding 20 mm that is close to or is expected to occur for more than an hour.
The agency also expected similar weather condition in several areas within the states of Kedah (Langkawi, Kubang Pasu, Kota Setar, Pokok Sena, Padang Terap, Yan, Pendang, Kuala Muda, Kulim and Bandar Baharu), Perak (Kerian, Larut, Matang and Selama, Kuala Kangsar, Manjung, Kinta, Perak Tengah, Kampar, Bagan Datuk and Hilir Perak), Kelantan (Jeli, Tanah Merah and Machang), Terengganu (Besut), Pahang (Bentong, Temerloh and Bera), Johor (Tangkak), Sarawak: Kuching, Serian, Samarahan, Betong (Pusa, Betong and Kabong), Bintulu, (BIntulu and Sabauh) and Miri (Subis, Beluru, Miri and Marudi), and Sabah: Pendalaman (Kuala Penyu and Beaufort), Pantai Barat (Ranau), Sandakan (Beluran) and Kudat (Kota Marudi).
