First Selangor Plan to pay attention to helping entrepreneurs increase revenue — Exco

SHAH ALAM, Aug 3 — The First Selangor Plan (RS-1) presented last week will focus on efforts to promote activities and diversify entrepreneurship assistance programmes to increase household income in the state.

State executive councillor for entrepreneur development Rodziah Ismail said RS-1’s first theme is economic strengthening contained, as contained in the five-year development plan and in line with poverty eradication efforts.

“RS-1 also outlines the continuation of various micro-financing schemes between RM1,000 and RM10,000 with easy repayment terms and no burden, within a period of six to 36 months,” she said during the Selangor State Legislative Assembly meeting recently.

Rodziah recommended micro, small and medium entrepreneurs explore various opportunities through the theme’s nine focus areas, including ports and logistics, tourism, digital economy and aerospace.

She added that other fields also include automotive, electricity and electronics as well as machinery and engineering, halal industry, life science and agrotechnology.

On July 27, Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari tabled the RS-1, which is expected to be Selangor’s development framework in five years and has a total cost of RM212.44 billion.

He said that RM92.44 billion has been set aside for state-level development initiatives, including the introduction of a number of incentives to ensure the welfare of the people.

Amirudin said Selangor’s efforts will not set aside the five-year planning under the 12th Malaysia Plan (12MP) which is still ongoing and bringing an impact to the state.
