HULU LANGAT, Aug 14 — The Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated) or MBI has donated RM50,000 to the Selangor International Islamic University College (Kuis) to organise the Ekstival 25 programme in conjunction with the college’s convocation.

Kuis rector Assoc Prof Datuk Mohd Farid Ravi Abdullah said the donation from the state government’s subsidiary was very meaningful as it helped Kuis to organise beneficial programmes for its students.

“Most of our students are from the asnaf (needy) group. Therefore, we truly appreciate the state government and MBI’s concerns. May Selangor continues to stay developed so that the state can help more needy people,” he said during the launching ceremony of the Ekstival 25 programme.

The programme was officiated by Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari. It is an annual event that is held concurrently with Kuis’s 25th convocation ceremony from August 14 until August 18.

Among the events planned for Ekstival 2 are sales booths, book fairs, runs, e-sports competitions, traditional sports, Al-Quran readings as well as arts and culture nights.

Visitors will also be entertained by performances from the famous nasyid group Raihan.
