State school aid helps cover repair costs, provide better facilities

GOMBAK, Aug 1 — School administrators in Selangor are grateful for the assistance provided by the state government for the maintenance, repair and upgrading of their institutions’ infrastructure under the 2022 Selangor School Aid programme.

Maahad Tahfiz Huzaifiyyah secretary Wahyi Shariff said they are very grateful for the RM40,000 assistance as the school last received a donation three years ago.

“Our tahfiz has 60 students and operates using its own funds. Donations such as this help ease the burden of the management in meeting the needs of the orphaned students.

“We plan to use this donation to repair several leaks as well as for the student’s food and drink expenses,” he said during the Selangor Penyayang roadshow at Padang Awam Batu Caves here, yesterday.

Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Cina (SJKC) San Yuk Rawang headmaster Lim Kim Leong said they will use the RM60,000 assistance to repair the school’s facilities.

“This aid will be put into the school manager’s account and every money received every year will be used to repair student facilities.

“We plan to upgrade the science laboratory and build a covered pathway for the students’ comfort,” he said.

Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Tamil (SJKT) Taman Melawati teacher Victor said they planned to use the RM65,000 donation to install drain covers to ensure the safety of their students.

“We also plan to use it to add another five classrooms to bring the total number of classrooms to 13 and build a computer room, science laboratory and a library.

“We also want to upgrade the toilets for teachers as the students’ toilets have been upgraded,” he said.

Earlier, Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari handed over the 2022 Selangor School Aid amounting to more than RM1.83 million to 10 schools in the district.

The schools that received the benefit Sekolah Kelas al-Quran and Fardhu Ain (Kafa) Integrasi Al-Ehsan, Maahad Tahfiz Huzaifiyyah, Sekolah Rendah Integrasi Teras Islam (SRITI) Al-Mustaqim, Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Selayang Baru (2) and SK (2) Gombak.

Other recipients are Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Sungai Pusu, SJKC San Yuk, SJKC Kheow Bin, SJKT Batu Caves and SJKT Taman Melawati.
