SHAH ALAM, Aug 18 — Team Selangor has organised a convoy in conjunction with the 65th National Day celebrations, with 128 members of Helang Motorcycle Club from Ampang and Pandan on August 14.

Its chief secretariat Syahaizel Keman said the convoy, led by Malaysian hip-hop artist Altimet, kicked off at several locations and took 90 minutes to reach its destination at Tanjung Sepat in Kuala Langat.

He said the convoy, mostly consisting of youths, was received by Tanjung Sepat state assemblyman Borhan Aman Shah who also officiated the Tanjung Sepat Motorcycle Club.

“During the event, Borhan launched the new motorcycle club with 30 members. Then all the participants took part in a beach cleaning exercise at Pantai Batu Laut.

“Following this the participants rode to the homes of 30 villagers at Kampung Kanchong Tengah, Kampung Ladang Batu, Kampung Kundang, Kampung Batu Laut and Kampung Tanjung Sepat to raise the Jalur Gemilang flags at their homes,” Syahaizel told SelangorKini.

He added the convoy later rode to the homes of several retired policemen and armed forces veterans where they handed out food baskets, in recognition of their services and sacrifices in defending the country.

Syahaizel said Team Selangor will organise similar convoys at several locations during the National Month celebrations.

“We have prepared the paperwork for the convoy mission. It may be held in Meru or Kuala Selangor,” he said.
