KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 21 — The Jelajah Ehsan Rakyat initiative has recorded an accumulated RM880,000 in savings for the Selangor people, says Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.

He said that the figure was registered from the initiative that was held in over 100 locations involving 27 state constituencies from September 6 until to date.

“The total value of subsidy recorded from the Jelajah Ehsan Rakyat programme adds up to RM880,000. The programme will be held in another 717 locations that have been identified.

“We urge the Selangor people to grab this opportunity as the initiative is slated to be held nine to 10 times in each state constituency,” he told SelangorKini when met after a medal presentation ceremony at the National Aquatic Centre in Bukit Jalil, here yesterday.

The Jualan Ehsan Rakyat initiative, run by the Selangor Agricultural Development Corporation (PKPS), aims to ease the public’s burden due to the rising cost of living and had benefitted 80,000 people since it began in December last year.

On August 30, Amirudin announced that the state administration allocated an additional RM10 million for the programme to continue under Jelajah Ehsan Rakyat throughout the 56 state constituencies from August 31 to December 31.

He said the programme would focus on offering six basic items, namely chicken, beef, fish, chicken eggs, rice and cooking oil.
