High tide: Three flooded locations in Klang under control

SHAH ALAM, Sept 27 – The high tide situations that flooded areas around Klang are under control, according to a survey at 7.30am today.

The Klang Municipal Council (MPK) said that the local council had surveyed the areas in Kunci Air Sri Muda, the base of Port Klang, and Tanjung Harapan from 5am to 8am.

“The results from our patrol found that the bunds and embankments were still in good condition.

“We found no floods at residential areas and the water levels at water key stations and nearby rivers to be at a safe and normal level,” MPK said in a post on Facebook.

Last week, the local authority said that they have prepared and equipped vehicle assets to face the northeast monsoon and high tide phenomenon.

Its president Noraini Roslan stated that more than 20 vehicular assets are ready to be used if a flood happens, which includes pickup trucks, jetter trucks, tankers, and small boats.

According to predictions, high tides are expected to reach a record of 5.3 metres (m) today, followed by 5.4m at 7.53am tomorrow and 5.3m on Thursday between the hours of 6.42am.
