SHAH ALAM, Sept 3 — The Kuala Selangor Municipal Council (MPKS) has disposed of illegal waste at the recycling site in Bagan Pasir, Tanjung Karang, after a public complaint was lodged sometime last week.
The council said its investigation has revealed the lot tenant, an Indonesian national, had previously been issued three compounds and two notices for using the area as a collection point for recycled goods.
“MPKS has taken action to clear the waste with two excavators, removing a total of 16 tonnes of garbage from the area.
“The land owner has also taken the initiative to dig up the land at the area’s entrance, to prevent this problem from recurring,” it said in a Facebook post.
MPKS added the cleaning carried out under By-law 4 of the Collection, Removal and Disposal of Garbage MDKS 2007, involving 40 personnel and in collaboration with the Kuala Selangor district police headquarters and KDEB Waste Management.
