She said the library, which also provides facilities and activities for special children, is the result of an idea by the Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj.

“We will have another library at Phase 2B, which will be a special library for children as well as for children with disabilities.

“His Royal Highness has also expressed their wish for the library to serve as a one-stop centre for these special children. As it is commonly known the costs to look after then is high, so in this manner, we can help,” said Mastura.

She was speaking at the officiation ceremony for the rebranding of the Sultan Abdul Samad Library in Kuala Langat yesterday.

Mastura added that PPAS will work with Anak Istimewa Selangor (AnIS) to realise the project.

“We will also ensure every district library has the same facilities, thus guaranteeing every layer of society can receive these benefits,” she said.

On November 26 last year, Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari announced the state government has approved the construction of the Raja Tun Uda Library Phase 2B, as a continuation of the Phase 1 and Phase 2A projects.

He said Phase 2B’s construction will include the Royal Gallery, the Menteri Besar Gallery, and the Creative Learning Space.
