Proposed alignment for MRT3 line must be presented to state govt — MB

SHAH ALAM, Sept 6 — The proposed alignment of the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) 3 Circle Line rail project needs to be presented in the Selangor Economic Action Council (MTES) meeting, said Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.

He said this was due to claims that the alignment will be built across Taman Kencana Ampang, which would affect 90 houses in the area.

“This matter needs to be discussed with the state government. Matters involving land, and land acquisition involve our side. So, I’m sure this matter will be brought up in MTES for us to consider the alignment and its impact.

“We also want to make sure that the MRT is suited to the resident’s needs and will not create problems for the housing area,” he told reporters yesterday.

Amirudin commented on the matter following an earlier statement by the state executive councillor for infrastructure Izham Hashim who was surprised by the proposed realignment because he was never informed of it.

It was previously reported that residents of Taman Kencana have urged the government to review the intention to include their housing area as part of the MRT3 alignment.
