Seven buildings in Unisel Shah Alam campus rebranded

SHAH ALAM, Sept 14 — Seven blocks, including the main building, of University Selangor (Unisel) at the Shah Alam Campus, here, were rebranded and given new names today.

The main building that houses the administrative management department, formerly known as Satelit, was renamed Berlian.

While the building blocks that house the lecture rooms that were formerly referred to as A, B, C, X, Y, and Z are now called Delima, Nilam, Kristal, Mutiara, Zamrud and Platinium, respectively.

The event was launched by Kota Anggerik state assemblyman Najwan Halimi.

Najwan said that the rebranding would give a new spirit to the staff and students of the institution, which was established in 1999.

“The change in the name gives a new aura. It isn’t a trivial matter because even when we want to name a child, we would pick the best names where we would also refer those who know better.

“Names are important. For example, here (in Unisel) we had previously only called it by a letter, which had no soul to it. With a name, it brings more meaning,” he said when launching the event.

Unisel offers several courses at two of its campuses whereas on its Bestari Jaya campus, it offers engineering, education, computer science and biotechnology courses.

While in Shah Alam, it provides electives, health sciences, industrial arts and design, and business faculties.
