Number of Melaka flood victims drop further this morning

MELAKA, Oct 29 — The number of flood victims in two districts in Melaka fell to 146 from 41 families compared to 170 people from 50 families at 4pm yesterday.

Melaka State Disaster Management Committee secretariat in a statement said the temporary evacuation centre (PPS) at Kampung Tanjong Rimau Luar community hall in Alor Gajah was closed at 10 last night.

“Forty-six victims from 20 families were housed in two PPS in Alor Gajah at Kampung Gadek community hall and Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Seri Pengkalan while 100 victims from 21 families were placed at Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Krubong in Melaka Tengah as of 8 this morning, ” according to the statement.

Among the flood-affected areas in Alor Gajah are Kampung Gadek, Pengkalan, Kampung Panchor, Kampung Beringin and Kampung Pulau while in Melaka Tengah, it involves Kampung Lanjut Manis and Kampung Tanah Merah.
