PKR denies allegation detained suspected Mossad agents are party members

SHAH ALAM, Oct 19 — PKR has denied an allegation that a married couple, who were among 11 individuals accused of abducting a Palestinian man, are members of the party.

Its communication chief Fahmi Fadzil said the claim, which went viral on social media, stemmed from the couple’s Facebook photo with a PKR flag and logo in 2018.

“I could confirm that those individuals, Nidarahayu Zainal and Raibafie Amdan are not registered as PKR members under any division, thus they have no relation to the party.

“Regarding the Facebook photo, which shows them holding PKR’s flag or a photo of their Facebook account with PKR’s logo in 2018, it is an individual action and has nothing to do with the party,” he said in a statement today.

Meanwhile, Fahmi also thanked the police for arresting the suspects and rescuing the victims.

“Those who were arrested must be brought to court for justice,” he said in a Facebook post.

On October 14, 11 individuals were charged at the Magistrate’s Court here for kidnapping Palestinian national Omar Z. M. Albelbaisy, to obtain information about the software used to hack mobile phones.

News Straits Times reported the police rescued the 31-year-old victim a day after being kidnapped on September 28 by a group of locals, believed to have been recruited by Israel’s intelligence agency Mossad to help it hunt down Hamas members in Malaysia.
