AMPANG, Oct 29 — Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) candidate for the Ampang parliamentary seat Rodziah Ismail is determined that the party would take back the federal seat in the upcoming 15th general election (GE15).
The state executive councillor for entrepreneur development said that she would ensure that several important matters will be addressed should she win the people’s mandate in Ampang.
“Ampang is not a new area to me as I regularly go to the ground for over a year. There is a lot that can be done and I will announce five to 10 more (initiatives for the people).
“InsyaAllah (God willing), I will work hard to ensure that PKR and Pakatan Harapan remain in Ampang. I am confident that the people would continue to give their support until the end (GE15),” she said.
Last night, Rodziah, who is also the Batu Tiga state assemblyman, was announced as the PKR candidate to contest for the Ampang parliamentary seat, which was won by Datuk Zuraida Kamaruddin in the last general polls.
Rodziah is among 76 other candidates contesting under the PKR ticket for the federal seats in the Peninsular.
Commenting on the battle for the Ampang seat, Rodziah said that she has yet to know who she will be running against but has not dismissed the possibility of contesting against Zuraida.
“I have not heard of who the other candidates are (for Ampang) but surely based on history, it (contender) would be Zuraida.
“When I was nominated to contest for the seat, the issue is not who I will be contesting against but it is towards ensuring that PKR and PH win,” she said.
