Selangor a testament of PH’s competent leadership — MB

By Norrasyidah Arshad

KUALA SELANGOR, Oct 27 — Selangor’s exemplary achievement under the administration of Pakatan Harapan (PH) has proven that the coalition could govern the state better than its opponent.

Selangor PH chairman Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the achievement is a real indicator that the public can witness.

“In Selangor Darul Ehsan, let me just touch on one aspect, (which is) the state’s reserve. When the state was governed by Barisan Nasional (BN), the reserve stood at RM400 million, that was the value when we took over the administration. Perikatan Nasional never led the state, they were just a small part of the coalition.

“When PH took over, we spent nearly half a billion every year to help the people. Most recently, we launched the Skim Insurans Am Selangor (Insan), we even received a call from the Finance Ministry’s treasury office asking us how we come up with the initiative,” he said when delivering his speech during the Jelajah Mega Harapan Selangor, here last night.

Amirudin, who is also the Menteri Besar, stated that BN had previously questioned the state government’s spending on its citizens and even believed that it would cause Selangor to lose its status as an advanced state .

“(They said) we would not be able to progress further. No money to woo investors. But we (PH) have been in Selangor for 14 years.

“Menteri Besar is from Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR), with Democratic Action Party (DAP) and Parti Amanah Negara as partners and we contributed over 24.8 per cent of the country’s gross domestic products (GDP),” he said.

Last year, Selangor emerged as the biggest contributor to the country’s GDP with nearly 25 per cent or equivalent to one-fourth of the overall economy.
