SMK Assunta, winner of the Independence Day short video competition organised by Yayasan Selangor

SHAH ALAM, Oct 5 — Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Assunta, Petaling Jaya, has won RM700 for the short video competition in conjunction with the 65th National Day celebration organised by Yayasan Selangor.

The competition saw SMK Bagan Terap, Sungai Besar taking second place, while, SMK Dato’ Harun, Tanjung Karang won third place with each bringing home RM400 and RM200 cash prizes respectively.

Yayasan Selangor informed that they took the initiative to organise this competition in hopes to instil love for the country within every Malaysian, especially among the younger generation.

“The competition targets the participation of schools that host students sponsored by Yayasan Selangor with the objective to continue fostering the value of love towards the country while unearthing the students’ creative talents.

“Held from August 1 to 25, the competition received a total of 21 video entries, which includes a variety of performances such as poetry reading, syair and singing,” it said in a statement.

From the same competition, seven entries received consolation prizes of RM100 in cash.
