AMPANG, Nov 6 — Close to 400 residents of Flat Taman Kosas leapt at the opportunity to purchase their basic necessities at affordable prices, via the Jelajah Ehsan Rakyat roadshow.

State executive councillor of housing Rodziah Ismail’s coordinating officer Norain Shafee said residents began queuing as early as 8am, even though the program began at 10am.

“The feedback from Flat Taman Kosas residents attending the sale has been very good. People were still coming even after the goods were sold out.

“Many queued from 8am, despite the sale starting at 10am,” she said when met.

Norain added the roadshow will continue at Dewan Sri Nilam tomorrow, and at Kolej Komuniti Bukit Indah on Wednesday (November 9).

“Although has only been held three times in the Lembah Jaya state constituency, it is clear there is a need for the programme to be increased.

“YB Rodziah Ismail is also scheduled to meet residents at the locations,” she said.

Organised by the Selangor Agricultural Development Corporation, the sale offers a variety of goods like standard chicken at RM10 per piece, fresh solid beef at RM10 per pack, and eggs at RM10 per tray.

Other items include mackerel and selayang fish at RM6 per pack, 5kg cooking oil for RM25, and 5kg rice for RM10.

The state government has allocated RM10 million to realise Jelajah Ehsan Rakyat in all 56 state constituencies.
