PH election machinery must reach out to Gombak young voters

By Siti Rohaizah Zainal

GOMBAK, Nov 2 — The Pakatan Harapan (PH) election machinery needs to focus on reaching out to young voters so that they come out and vote in the 15th general election (GE) on November 19.

Selangor PH chairman Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari insisted the election machinery also needs to clearly explain the party’s vision to every voter regardless of political affiliation.

“The Gombak Parliament has tens of thousands of young voters. Encourage them all to vote for PH. The election machinery needs to work as a team,” he said at a public function with Gombak Setia voters, here yesterday.

Amirudin, who is also the vice-president of the Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR), also ordered the election machinery members to avoid disputes among each other and focus on winning for the party.

“Forget the petty fights because the bigger agenda is ahead. The harder we work, the better we can attract voters and encourage them. We can create another victorious history.

“Victory in the Gombak Parliament will be proof and will give a good sign for us to continue our mandate in Selangor for the next term,” said the Selangor Menteri Besar.

Amirudin will go up against three-term incumbent Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali from Perikatan Nasional and Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate Megat Zulkarnain Omardin.

The Selangor PH chairman is also a member of the Sungai Tua state assembly for three terms. In GE14, he defeated BN candidate N. Rawisandran with a majority of 11,374 votes.
