Police mount roadblocks at strategic locations nationwide

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 23 — The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) have mounted roadblocks (SJR) at strategic locations nationwide since yesterday to ensure public safety and order. They will be in place until further notice.

Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani said the implementation of the SJR is part of PDRM’s efforts to prevent crime through increasing the level of omnipresence (presence of police personnel) and will be carried out on a 24-hour basis.

“For the comfort of road users and the smoothness of traffic, there will be no SJR obstacles during peak hours and during the day.

“The public is asked to cooperate in complying with the instructions given when passing through SJR, especially outside peak hours,” he said in a statement today.

Acryl Sani added that the people do not have to worry about carrying out daily activities and that PDRM assured that the level of security was under control.
