Seven Selangor districts to see inclement weather until 5pm

SHAH ALAM, Nov 12 — Seven districts in Selangor are expected to be hit with inclement weather until 5pm today, said the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia).

In a warning issued at 1pm, the agency said the affected districts include Hulu Selangor, Klang, Gombak, Petaling, Kuala Langat, Hulu Langat and Sepang.

“Similar weather conditions are also anticipated throughout Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, Negeri Sembilan, Melaka, Perlis and Johor.

“Other areas include Kedah (Kubang Pasu, Padang Terap, Sik and Baling), Perak (Kuala Kangsar, Kinta, Kampar, Batang Padang and Muallim), Pahang (Cameron Highlands, Lipis, Raub, Bentong, Bera, Pekan and Rompin).

“Meanwhile in East Malaysia, the inclement weather is expected to persist in Sarawak (Miri and Limbang as well as in Sabah (Tawau, Kunak and Lahad Datu, Sandakan, Kinabatangan, Beluran and Sandakan and Kudat),” it said.

MetMalaysia issues warnings whenever signs indicate a thunderstorm with rain intensity exceeding 20 mm that is close to or is expected to occur for more than an hour.

A thunderstorm warning is a short-term warning valid for a period not exceeding an hour for a single release.
