SHAH ALAM, Nov 26 — A special task force committee has been set up to ensure the Integrated Development Region in South Selangor’s (Idriss) projects proceed smoothly, said Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.

He said the team’s main purpose is to coordinate, monitor and solve problems that arise.

“It will play the role of facilitator and coordinator when it comes to the implementation of proposed development projects,” Amirudin said during the tabling of the 2023 Selangor Budget at the State Legislative Assembly yesterday.

Idriss is one of the agendas encapsulated in the First Selangor Plan (RS-1) which was announced in July to develop Sepang and Kuala Langat, with a RM1 trillion allocation.

The two districts were identified as the targets of regional-based development, so as to ensure the equitable distribution of economic activity in Selangor.

Meanwhile, the Menteri Besar said Idriss, which will take place over 40,000 acres of land, will also be equipped with an industrial management park for investors’ needs.

“Presently, there are real estate developers who have expressed interest in developing this concept park in Idriss, with an area of 732.4 acres,” he said.
