SHAH ALAM, Nov 29 — The newly-launched Hop-On Hop-Off (HOHO) tourist bus is anticipated to increase tourist arrivals in Sepang by 3 to 5 per cent next year.

Tourism Selangor chief executive officer Azrul Shah Mohamad said the initiative, carried out in collaboration with LNH Tour & Transport Sdn Bhd (LNH Tour), aims to grow the district’s tourism-related products through two proposed travel routes.

“The collaboration would indirectly open up for more economic opportunities and generate more income for the operators and local communities.

“Tourism Selangor will actively play our part in developing the HOHO tourist bus service package through the ‘Go Selangor’ mobile application and the Selangor.Travel website as well as the official social media pages on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram,” he said in a statement today.

Earlier, the signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Tourism Selangor and LNH Tour took place at the Selangor State Legislative Building, here, witnessed by state executive councillor for tourism Hee Loy Sian and state executive councillor for rural and traditional villages development Borhan Aman Shah.

Through the MoU, LNH Tour would fully bear the entire expenses of the HOHO tour bus in terms of operation, technical and maintenance in addition to related matters such as travel insurance, safety and passenger liability, according to the terms that have been agreed upon by the parties.

Azrul added that the tourist bus would be able to attract more visitors through the “Nak Bercuti, Pusing Selangor Dulu!” campaign, which targets the domestic tourism market, and providing an option for international tourists to visit nearby areas while waiting for their next flight.
