SHAH ALAM, Dec 25 — The water supply to areas affected by an unscheduled water disruption since yesterday is expected to be fully restored at 2pm tomorrow following the resumption of the Bukit Tampoi water treatment plant (WTP) operations today.

Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor) said the water supply restoration rate in affected areas has reached 16 per cent as of 7pm.

“Treated water supply has been channelled to the consumers’ premises in stages since 6pm today.

“The water supply recovery period differs from one area to another according to the location of consumers’ premises as well as the water pressure of the distribution system.

“At the same time, Air Selangor continues to provide six public pipes to supply water for the consumers’ use. We also have mobilised 85 water tankers to critical premises and affected areas during the unscheduled water supply disruption,” the agency said on Facebook.

Yesterday, Air Selangor announced that the Sungai Semenyih and Bukit Tampoi WTPs were temporarily shut down following an odour pollution incident at Jenderam Hilir Raw Water Pump Station.

A total of 472 areas in five Selangor regions are expected to experience unscheduled water supply disruptions starting 7am yesterday, namely Petaling (172 areas), Hulu Langat (54 areas), Sepang (196 areas), Putrajaya (23 areas) and Kuala Langat (27 areas).

Affected consumers can also call the Air Selangor Contact Centre at 15300. Inquiries and complaints can be submitted at the Help Centre via airselangor.com and the Air Selangor application.
