SHAH ALAM, Dec 14 — Reports on safety aspects at a fun fair in Puncak Alam must be conducted and submitted to the state government, says Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.
He said the reports must be reviewed thoroughly by local authorities to ensure such an incident would not recur.
“I have called for thorough reports and investigation. Even though it was not a fatal incident, the mishap caused injuries to three victims.
“The incident has left a huge impact, therefore, every party must be held accountable. Local authorities should alert and inspect the safety standard before giving their approval,” he said when met at the Jelajah Ehsan Rakyat appreciation event last night.
Yesterday, state executive councillor for local government Ng Sze Had informed that the fun fair had been operating without permission from the Kuala Selangor Municipal Council (MPKS).
Following the incident, he said MPKS has imposed strict enforcement on the operator, including issuing compounds and confiscating the amusement park.
On Monday (December 12), three people were injured after falling from a fun fair ride at Eco Grandeur, Puncak Alam.
The three of them fell while the amusement ride known as ‘Sotong Ride’ was in motion. All the victims were taken to Shah Alam Hospital in an ambulance.
