SHAH ALAM, Dec 9 — The Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated), or MBI, will begin distributing the back-to-school aid beginning next week to the state constituencies that have applied for the programme.
Its Corporate Social Responsibility head Ahmad Azri Zainal Nor said that as of the closing date end-November, over 40 state constituencies have applied for the RM30,000 aid.
“Currently we are reviewing the documents received. Some applications were rejected due to documentation issues but we have given time until tomorrow for it to be completed.
“The handover process to the eligible recipients would be identified by the state constituencies,” Ahmad Azri told SelangorKini.
Under the MBI initiative, a total of 300 students from low-income households in each state constituency would receive RM100 in aid for school needs.
The application period was open in November and the household income limit set was increased to RM4,000 from the previous cap of RM2,500.
