SHAH ALAM, Dec 19 — In under an hour, 200 trays of eggs managed to be sold out at the Jualan Ehsan Rakyat programme in Dewan Harmoni, Section 19, yesterday.

Its coordinator Mohd Farid Mustapa said the Grade B eggs were met with high demand, especially by local residents, since they were sold at RM10 per tray, a more affordable price compared to elsewhere.

He said the Selangor Agricultural Development Corporation (PKPS) had to add another 100 boards, to meet public demand as buyers began queuing as early as 8am.

“Wherever we do affordable sales, people will rush after the eggs first. We are fortunate as the (supplying) warehouse is close to this location, so it as easy for us to replenish our stocks.

“PKPS will continue in its endeavour to give its best to the people, in spite of the eggs shortage from farms,” Mohd Farid told SelangorKini.

Asides from eggs, he said PKPS sold other basic items including standard chicken (700 pieces), mackerel and selayang fish (200 packs), solid beef (300 packs), rice, and cooking oil.

“Dry goods produced by the Ehsan PKPS brand were also sold, including wheat flour, sugar, chilli sauce, tomato sauce, soy sauce, canned sardines, biscuits, glutinous rice, dry noodles and ground chillies,” Mohd Farid said.
