HULU SELANGOR, Dec 4 — The state government targets to receive six million registration for the Skim Insurans Am Selangor (Insan) by September next year.

Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said as of now, the free general insurance scheme that provides coverage of up to RM10,000 has recorded 3.5 million recipients.

“Selangor is the only state in the country and in the Southeast Asia region that provides insurance coverage to the people as part of its effort to safeguard their welfare.

“Currently, some 3.5 million people have registered for the programme and we aim to achieve six million people by September next year,” he said when delivering his speech at the Jelajah Selangor Penyayang in Hulu Langat today.

On August 30, Amirudin announced, a total of six million people will be covered by Insan, with the premium cost fully borne by the state government.

He said each registered individual receives up to RM10,000 in coverage, in the event of death, accidents and injuries according to type.

The scheme, with a protection value of RM60 billion, can be registered until September 30, 2023, by downloading the Wavpay e-wallet app via the App Store or Google Play.
