Soil subsidence repair work at Indahria Apartment to begin next month — Exco

SHAH ALAM, Dec 23 — Work to repair the problem soil subsidence in the parking area of the Indahria Apartment in Batu Tiga will begin on January 12, 2023, said state executive councillor for housing, urban wellbeing and entrepreneur development Rodziah Ismail.

She said the repair works, which will be implemented by the Institute of Public Works (Ikram), are expected to be completed within a year and will cost nearly RM25 million.

Rodziah hopes it would help to overcome various damage issues there, thus, allaying the worries of the residents who have been plagued by the problem since 2010.

“This area was developed by Shanghai Royalty and it is private land, not government-owned.

“So, there is a conflict because the state government does not have the locus standi to deal with this problem. But, in the end, the state government, through the Shah Alam City Council, took an approach based on the safety of the people and shouldered this responsibility,” she told the media after visiting the apartment, earlier today.

Rodziah said although the state government prioritised financial allocation for the repair work on the basis of the residents’ safety, she would still ensure that the parties concerned carried out their responsibilities.
