Special executive councillor for Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Sikhism, and Taoism (Limas) Hee Loy Sian said the total donation was distributed according to the needs of the recipients, either to be spent for programmes or to restore their building.

“The state government has assisted not only in financial aspects but also managed to resolve 397 land issues related to worship houses for Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Sikhism and Tao, as of this year,” he said when delivering his speech in conjunction with the state-level Christmas celebration at Dewan Sivik MBPJ, here last night.

“Such an event would help create more understanding about other people’s beliefs and it represents the multiracial country that we are living in.

“The efforts are aligned with the Pusing Selangor Dulu! campaign which prioritises domestic tourism, supported by Malaysians of all races and religions,” he said.

Over 3,000 individuals participated in the Christmas celebration event which ran from 6pm until 10.30pm.

The event was enlivened by various performances including a violinist, Dr Joanne Yeah, FGT Church Choir, GA611 Church, Roman Catholic Church and Kaya Band.
