State to continue tax exemption for villages, low-cost housing next year — MB

By Siti Rohaizah Zainal

SHAH ALAM, Dec 7 — The assessment tax exemption for village houses and low-cost housing will be continued next year with an estimated cost of RM68.74 million.

Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the exemption is a part of the Selangor government’s efforts to lighten the load on its citizens.

“Even though we lost one of the avenues to collect revenue for the state, we have other means as backup.

“With a transparent and integrity management from the Pakatan Harapan government, we would be able to achieve this decision. At the same time, the state government has allocated over RM600 million for 42 programmes included in the Iltizam Selangor Penyayang,” he said in a Facebook post, today.

The exemption incentive on the assessment tax had been ongoing since 2016.
