SHAH ALAM, Dec 25 — Water supply has been restored in stages to the 472 affected areas from 2pm today and is expected to fully recover at 6pm on Tuesday (December 27).
Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor) said following the resumption of the Sungai Semeyih water treatment plant at 8.30am today, the supply of clean and safe treated water has commenced to consumers’ premises in stages.
“The water supply recovery period differs from one area to another according to the location of consumers’ premises as well as the water pressure of the distribution system,” the agency said on Facebook.
Meanwhile, Air Selangor said the Bukit Tampoi WTP has also recorded a reading of 0 threshold odour number (TON) three consecutive times.
“The latest development has enabled the Bukit Tampoi WTP to resume its operation at 2.30pm today,” it said.
Yesterday, Air Selangor announced that the Sungai Semenyih and Bukit Tampoi WTP were temporarily shut down following an odour pollution incident at Jenderam Hilir Raw Water Pump Station.
A total of 472 areas in five Selangor regions are expected to experience unscheduled water supply disruptions starting 7am today, namely Petaling (172 areas), Hulu Langat (54 areas), Sepang (196 areas), Putrajaya (23 areas) and Kuala Langat (27 areas).
