SHAH ALAM, Jan 3 — The Selangor Digital Entrepreneur Roadshow organised by the Selangor Information Technology and Digital Economy Corporation (Sidec) continues this year with a target of 300 participants per location.

State executive councillor for investment Dato’ Teng Chang Khim said the first series of roadshows to expose entrepreneurs to digital businesses is expected to start in March.

“We will continue this roadshow because we received encouraging responses last year when each area recorded attendance of between 200 and 300 people of various ages, races and education levels.

“If last year five locations were explored, this time we will head to other districts that we have not yet been to. The roadshow will most likely start in March since we are running out of time in February,” he said when contacted.

Teng said the numerous participants in the roadshows in Gombak, Hulu Selangor, Petaling, Kuala Selangor and Klang last year, proved their determination to enter the business field.

“The public as a whole is very interested in becoming entrepreneurs, but they need guidance and new knowledge, especially those involving technology.

“They need to be exposed to digitisation to make it easier for them to sell products or offer services online,” he said.

Last year, the Selangor Digital Entrepreneur Roadshow was held in Gombak, Hulu Selangor, Petaling, Kuala Selangor and Klang.

The roadshow brought partners from industry players such as Shopee, Lazada, Touch ‘n Go e-Wallet, Hijrah Selangor, Epic Unicorn, TikTok Shop, Grab and Sprii Commerce.
