PETALING JAYA, Jan 13 — Pasar malam traders have been advised to immediately apply for business sites at the Section 8 parking lot, which will operate from February onwards.
Bukit Gasing state assemblyman Rajiv Rishyakaran said the online applications can be made at elesen.mbpj.gov.my
“I call on all traders to legally apply via the Petaling Jaya City Council’s (MBPJ) channels only, as we will conduct interview sessions for traders, and not through any third parties seeking to make profits.
“If you do not know how to apply online, you can head directly to the Licensing Department on the sixth floor of the MBPJ Headquarters with the necessary documents,” he said.
Speaking to reporters after inspecting the new pasar malam location yesterday, Rajiv said 57 stalls are available and the market, which operates every Saturday from 4.30pm to 10pm, sells a variety of dry and wet goods.
The documents that will be necessary when applying include:
- A passport-sized photo.
- A photocopy of the applicant’s identity card.
- A copy of the applicant’s spouse’s identity card (if applicable).
- A copy of the latest utility bill.
- A copy of the applicant’s marriage certificate (if married).
- A copy of the applicant’s divorce certificate (if divorced).
