KLANG, Jan 26 — Meru state assemblyman Mohd Fakhrulrazi Mohd Mokhtar hopes that the state government can increase the allocation and continue the Jelajah Ehsan Rakyat roadshows following positive response from residents.

He said it is also to ensure that the programme can be expanded so that more people can benefit from it.

“We are aware that the community is burdened by the cost of living. So, this is one of the state government’s initiatives to help ease their burden, especially those in the B40 group, to get basic food supplies at cheaper or below market prices.

“It is true that we get complaints (from visitors) because there are not enough goods, which proves that many citizens need help.

“So, when we get this very encouraging response, we hope the state government can increase the budget and continue this programme, thus allowing more people to benefit and be helped,” he said, when met at the Jelajar Ehsan Rakyat roadshow in Meru, here today.

Mohd Fakhrulrazi added that he was trying his best to apply for more slots from the Selangor Agricultural Development Corporation (PKPS) to be organised at Meru state constituency.

“Since it began last year, this programme has been organised more than 15 times in Meru state constituency. This week alone, it had been held three times.

“In addition, the selection of areas is also important so that it is easily accessible with vehicle parking facilities and is not a concentrated area for foreigners because we really want only Malaysians to benefit from this,” he said.
