More investors attracted to exploring green industrial areas in Shah Alam — Exco

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 10 — The development of a green industrial area on 200 acres of land at Kota Seri Langat in Shah Alam will be expedited with the presence of many investors.

State executive councillor for trade and investment Dato’ Teng Chang Khim said the Compass@Kota Seri Langat project is currently under construction, after obtaining Planning Approval (KM).

“The project is in the development stage. Should there be more investments coming into the area, it will boost manufacturing activity. However, they must have a high-class industrial manufacturing facility in line with the Industrial Revolution 4.0 (IR 4.0).

“We are confident the development will be able to woo investors as it is a unique project that emphasises Sustainable Development Goals, like the use of solar panel roofs,” he said.

Teng was speaking at the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between Clara International Beauty Group (CIBG) and Slim Beauty House Japan at Kuala Lumpur Tower, earlier today.

Meanwhile, he added the project, which commenced last year, will be fully completed within the next three to five years.

“The construction of the first phase of the total project has been reached, and we expect it will be fully completed in five years, depending on the number of investors coming into the area,” Teng said.

On August 25 last year, the councillor announced the project, involving a gross development value (GDV) of RM1.2 billion, will be implemented in collaboration with Permodalan Nasional Berhad, KWEST Sdn Bhd, and AREA Group of Companies (AREA).
