New fee for SD increased from RM4 to RM10

PUTRAJAYA, Jan 13 — The new fee for statutory declaration (SD) and exhibit in the document has been increased from RM4 to RM10 effective January 16 (Monday).

Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Law and Institutional Reforms) Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said said the government agreed to review the fee for SD under Section 4 of the Statutory Declarations Act 1960 [Act 783].

The last time the fee for SD was reviewed was on March 4, 1993, almost 30 years ago through the P.U.(A) 78/93 gazette, which was RM4 for SD and RM2 for exhibits in the SD document.

She said the government had decided to review the fee amount after taking into account the economic growth, inflation rate, operation cost, cost to appoint Commissioner of Oath and comparison with a fee amount of other countries.

“The new fee was set after a careful study carried out by the government with the stakeholders and Pertubuhan Gabungan Pesuruhjaya Sumpah Malaysia (Pesuma),” Azalina said in a statement today.
