SHAH ALAM, Feb 1 — The application for the Anak Istimewa Selangor (Anis) special assistance under the Yayasan Warisan Anak Selangor (Yawas) will be open within this month to next month.

Yawas general manager Gan Pei Nei said the assistance — with total allocation of RM1 million — is expected to benefit 450 to 500 individuals and limited to only RM5,000 for each application.

“The initiative would help the public, especially families with disabled persons as it covers monthly costs for therapy centres and equipment,” she said when contacted by SelangorKini.

Gan said last year, Yawas received 1,291 applications and out of the total, only 331 were approved.

Those interested to apply could do so via www.anisselangor.com/bantuananis

The Anis special assistance was given as a one-off with a maximum limit of RM5,000 for each family. It is open to special needs children aged 18 years and below.

The scheme involves four types of assistance, namely food and additional needs, purchase or repair cost of machines, medicines and special education.
