PUTRAJAYA, Feb 15 — The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) seized a total of 3,043 units of Hyundai and KIA brand vehicle spare parts worth RM240,792 in two separate raids in Batu Caves, Selangor and Cheras, Kuala Lumpur, on February 7.
KPDN Enforcement director-general Datuk Azman Adam said the spare parts, which are suspected to be counterfeit, were oil filters, air filters and timing belts.
He said the raids by a Putrajaya KPDN enforcement team were based on intelligence conducted a few days earlier after receiving information from the owner of the registered trademark of the goods.
“KPDN also seized some business documents,” Azman said in a statement today.
He said KPDN also arrested two local men, aged between 30 and 40 and who claimed to be the owner of the raided premises, to assist in the investigation.
